Why do you Sagg your pants again?
STOP SAGGING is our local initiative and slogan. As an organization S.P.E.A.K pushes to clarify what is morally correct as well as creating social consciousness. In this initiative we inform our youth where sagging originates from and also what it signifies. Many youth today are influenced by the environment around them. As a mainstream culture, saggin is tolerated and in some instances accepted. But, do we really understand what and where this so-called fad originated from?
Sagging; aka saggin as we currently know it originated in the in the prison system. Some individuals know this fact but many do not know what it actually represents. In prison it signifies easy access or that you are sexually ready to be taken by another inmate. If you knew that by wearing your pants at a specific height would determine you sexual orientation would you pull them up?
Are parents now a day encouraging their teenagers to go out to find summer jobs?
Does X Box or Play Station rule your house? Does your teenager tell you: “I will do it after I am done playing this game?” Do teenagers even look for summer jobs anymore? If so what jobs do they look for?
Peer Pressure
You don’t have to look far to see that this subject needs attention. Our children are learning faster and faster and we have the TV and Radio to thank for that. It is important that we take this matter seriously and talk about the importance of this topic and what down falls it has. High school is the number one place where this topic is likely to take place. How can we deal with all this Peer Pressure? Is there a plain? Do you discussed pressure prevention with your children?
At what age should you talk to your children about the dangers of sex?
This can be very uncomfortable but also very important conversation to have and it really depends on what elements your child or children are exposed to. It is easily for any child to look up the word sex on the internet. God only knows what would show up first. I think it’s better to make your child aware of it first before some else has a chance to. In this time and age, I think twelve years old would be an idea age because you can never be too careful. If we love our children we should keep them informed of all dangers including this one.
